i know you don't want to hear about that

especially in august
when you're taking a break
from an open season
of listening to people like me
whine and complain

well i guess i just wanted a feeling from this call
to feel like i did when i touched her skin
the few times it didn't crawl

the same reason i write checks from long-dead accounts
i'm sending one to the phone company now
to cover the cost of these long-distance bouts

with the answering machine

in your empty house

[smart went crazy - tight frame loose frame]
not an ENTIRE house of loose women.

boo on houses that have a bathroom in the living room.

house of loose women
will hopefully come to end
tonight we'll know
i'm listening to a band called american football. their music is the soundtrack to autumn and winter... absolutely incredible... roger ebert gives them "two thumbs up".

if and when it hits the fan,
know you will survive.
machines and tubes and wires and quarts of blood-
but in the end it is your hope that will keep you alive.
just remember you a living creature.

my five year old - like observation. i'm reverting.

goat milk?

perhaps it's the dairy association's next slogan.....
wow gabe... i guess, according to scott, you should really quit betting so much on the dog fights!
i would say if you're not saving any money, and especially if you have credit card debt and you continue to put money on your credit cards every month, you are probably living beyond your means.

if you are saving money and you have no dependence on credit cards (ie, you're not carrying balances on any of your cards), you probably aren't.

well, i've spent many a year not being needed by anyone else (not currently, but many a year in the past), and even during those times i still needed others... even when i tried to pretend that i didn't need anyone else, i still did. there are a lot of reasons you might not be needed by anyone (say you just moved to a new town and have no job- basically, no one needs you)... but if you "don't need anyone else", are you so proud that you are refusing help and human contact? or are you so apathetic that you refuse to reach out to anyone? i don't know... i think to not need anyone is probably worse.
This has nothing to do with anything. that being said... Here is a question I pose to you.... Is it worse to not be needed by anyone or to not need for anyone? Think about it you think its a easy answer but take a minute and think about it....Hmmm food for thought.
blast....sneezing really sucks the big one. so does coughing. it's soup time....time to eat, rejoice and prepare myself for an afternoon at the office. no more pampering myself around here feeling sorry for my stiff and sore body. there's nothing wrong with me, just a few sore muskles is all. tally ho and sally forth!

ps..not the sally forth comic strip....that thing sucks as much as a shop vac or the family circus.
my collection of classic films on DVD continues to grow... i just watched Network last night, and wow, that is one heck of a great movie. I like watching a good director at work... someone who's not afraid to film a bombastic monologue from twenty feet away, with the speaker a little off-center in the frame and out of focus... i like it when, in a conversation, the camera stays on one person through several exchanges between them and the other character, so you can see that person's reactions... most directors seem afraid to stay focused on one character while another is speaking... but the good ones, man, you never quite know what you're going to get but you know its gonna be powerful, and impressive.

for those who care, i'll be watching magnolia again tonight if i can swing it.

for those who were in non-death machine related car incidents this morning, my advice to you is stay home and watch movies all day.
ok folks. i'm not going to be on blog probably all day. i was in a pretty nasty car accident. altho i guess it's not too nasty, seeing as how i was able to walk away from it. my chest hurts like hell and it was a very scary thing to happen indeed.

i'm going home now to lay on the couch. call if you like...i'll be there drinking tea and watching game shows or movies.

oooh, da pain

yes, americans have GREAT craic (pronouced cra-ack)
craig wills was standing in my cube, trying to pry loose a life-saver type piece of candy. gabe monzo arrives, we say hi, and then he asks, "so what does craig wills look like?"

to which craig replies, "uh, sort of like this."

it was classic.
perhaps if anyone has some duct-tape and handcuffs, you could let me borrow them for a while. i'm much too young and dumb today.
Hey what do you want I'm not good at HiKu

My little Ode to all the beautiful women in hte world.....

Listen, for what I feel is true
This is what I feel when I look at you
Young lady, I see your place in ages long past
When men of courage and honor fought to the last
To the far ends of the Earth they would venture
Just to quench their thirst for adventure
Knights and squires could brave Hells' fire
And when they died, is when they retired
They would risk it all to save maidens fair
Even stride blind into the dragons lair
Of this the bards sing to kings and queens
Why do you remind me of such things?
Your beauty is an ocean
Waves of pure poetry in motion
Your angels' voice, hypnotic
Sultry eyes so erotic
Your long enchanting hair
And sweet scent of ambrosia that fills the air

Your majestic beauty is locked in my mind
And there it shall be for all time
To this I tell you my dear
You remind me of the lady Guenaveer
For beauty such as yours
Men have fought in may wars
Men who fight on willing to lose their crown
In these grand epics of loves lost and found

In the end when only one shall stand
And he will be the one to take your hand
Too hold you near by the dawns early light
And keep hold of you all through the night
Oh how I would fight with all my might
Just to be that shinning knight

But alas your beauty like Excalibur, is a weapon
It could send ones soul to Heaven
Or so thats how these tales are told
On parchment scrolls of very old
Today we would say it snappy and fast
Not long and poetic like days long past
Now for a maiden of your kind
I would just say.....

..."You're Mighty Fine."
adrift again 2000 man
you lost your maps,
you lost your plans
did you hear them yell,
"land damn it land"?
well i hope you can
i hope you can

sad news was received yesterday. a fellow poster to the blog had lost a friend in an automobile accident. let us not lose perspective on our own lives and trivial problems. low bowling scores mean nothing compared to a loss of life.
i ask which is worse
standard red tape bullshit or
office politics

be careful dear child
walls have ears and also eyes
but they don't have balls
