why do girls get their hair cut short? i mean, isn't one of our society's driving forces the whole internal desire to be attractive, for both males and females? and yet, wildly attractive women cut their hair short (and get it straightened) and their sex appeal approaches zero, while their "most likely to be mistaken for an unusually mature eigth-grader" rating skyrockets....

i'll never quite get it.
