Lunch Should Be Longer

As a new poster to this illustrious blog, I'd like to present some information slightly off topic, but still related to lunch being longer.

From an article from the Society for Human Resource Management:
"The United States is the only industrialized nation without a government mandate on vacation time. According to Hewitt Associates, a global management consulting firm in Lincolnshire, Ill., 81 percent of U.S. employers offer two weeks of vacation after one year of service. Compare that with four to five weeks in Europe. Americans often view generous European vacation polices as enviable but impractical. "

Perhaps American companies can lengthen the lunch hour to make up for their flagrant disregard for adequate vacation time...
